Will hamster affects a human health and does its odour spreads throughout the house?

My Fking father dun allow me to have hamster as he thinks that they carries germs and will spread disease. He also complains that the hamsters have a bird shit smells and he can even smells it in the living room even though my hamsters are located outside the living room. Is it true?? Or is it just my dad making up all these stories to force me take the hamsters away??
and i clear the bedding 2 times a week!

my hamsters smell a bit, but the door is shut so the smell doesnt spread

as long as you clean the cage out at least once a week(and that means washing it as well to get the mess off)
